Prelude The music serves as another way the film reflects obsessively in on itself, spiraling out of control. Even in the opening credits, the swirling of the images is paralleled by a fluctuating melody, representing vertigo and falling deeper and deeper into an obsessive longing. The score ("Prelude/Rooftop") is hauntingly poignant and incomplete, searching for a resting place and a stability in the harmony that it can’t seem to find, much as the characters will search for something they can’t find. |
